so what about lemon water all right ,so let’s dive into those benefits so we already know that water is great for weight loss, but adding lemon to your water has that added benefit of that pectin ,which is going to help curb your hunger even more ,which keeps you from snacking all the time and the flavonoids in lemons actually will help to increase the metabolism of fats and sugars in your body, plus having lemon water instead of your typical apple juice or orange juice in the morning, for example is going to get that juice fixed but you’re not going to have all those added calories, so that means you’re going to be able to keep your calorie in take lower by just replacing it as a healthy replacement drinking lemon water, also helps with reducing inflammation ,so when you drink a lot of water it helps to flush toxins out of your body that could be causing inflammation and you’re also getting all those extra antioxidants, which is going to help to rid your body of excess free radicals and reduce inflammation, in that way as well lemon water is also great for your skin and there’s actually some research that lemon water can help prevent aging as well be cause of the action with the enzymes and the antioxidants lemon water freshens your breath, so there’s a lot of health conditions that can actually lead to bad breath and some of those issues that result in gum disease can actually be helped a lot by lemon water, so not only does just generally having water which is going to flush down anything in your mouth and then rinse it out to reduce bad breath but lemon water functions and that pectin is really good for your gut health so how do you drink lemon water good question it’s really as simple as it sounds you squeeze a little lemon juice in to some water and you’re good to go personally i also like to add that wedge of lemon into my water and that way i get a little bit of extra flavor in there but depending on your taste buds and how tart you like it you can add as little or as much as you like you can also kind of spice up your lemon water and add a little bit of turmeric or some sliced ginger or some ground cinnamon and all of those have antioxidant and fat burning properties so those are all valuable things to add to lemon water or if you just can’t stand the tartness of lemon water and you really want to add some sweetener to it i recommend some raw honey or you can also use some liquid stevia do you drink lemon water hot or cold which is better the good news is both have the same effect there’s no positive to drinking one or the other it’s really just a matter of preference personally i like to have a cold glass of lemon water or room temperature throughout the day and then at night instead of having like a coffee or replacing it with something caffeinated have hot lemon water and that is super tasty as well when is the best time to have lemon water so drinking lemon water any time of day is going to be beneficial because you’re going to get that water intake you’re going to get the value from the citric acid and the potassium and all that goodness but if you’re someone that has difficulty drinking water throughout the day i recommend starting in the morning not only will that get your digestive system working but it’ll also kind of freshen you up for the day and then you guarantee that you’ve got your water in for the day having it in the morning is also a great way to replenish any water lost from your rest and sleeping at night how much lemon water should you be drinking so in general for water a minimum amount of water you want to have is half of your weigh tin ounces per day so if i weigh 140 pounds half of that is 70 i would be targeting70 ounces of water per day then if you have an active lifestyle if you’re working out you’re going to want to replenish even more water to make up for all of the sweat loss and all the water loss from that activity just pay attention to the citric acid in the lemon water because that can cause issues with the enamel on your teeth and you want to avoid that if you find that that’s an issue or if you’re also combining it with something acidic like apple cider vinegar definitely focus on having it through a straw and then following it up with regular water to rinse all that down as well can you have lemon water while fasting.

Yes you totally can lemon water does not break a fast it does not elicit any issues with insulin release so you are good to go it won’t increase your blood sugar levels it’s a great thing to have while you’re fasting and it’s kind of like a nice treat while you’re fasting as well rather than just plain water make sure though that you’re not adding any sweetener to it like raw honey because that will definitely break your fat.
